Questions, answered clearly
Yes. You can form an LLC or corporation in any of the 50 US states, regardless of where you live. Some founders choose their home state for simplicity; others choose a state like Delaware or Wyoming for specific advantages.
Our formation service starts at $99 for the Starter plan. The total cost also includes a state filing fee set by the state you choose, and any optional add-ons you select. Every total is shown before checkout.
No. $99 is our service fee for the Starter plan. The state where you form your company charges its own filing fee, which is separate and varies by state — you'll see both listed clearly before you pay.
State filing fees are government charges collected by the state's Secretary of State (or equivalent office) to process your formation. We don't set or profit from this fee — it's passed through at cost and shown as an estimate that you can verify with the state.
Processing time depends on the state you choose, typically ranging from 1 business day to a few weeks. Each state page lists an estimated timeline, and some states offer expedited processing for an additional fee.
Yes. US residency or citizenship is not required to form an LLC or corporation. Requirements for banking, tax registration, and payment processing vary by situation, so we recommend reviewing what applies to you before ordering.
Not to form the company. You do need a registered agent with a physical address in your formation state, which we provide as part of every plan. A separate business mailing address is available as an add-on.
Yes. EIN application assistance is included in the Professional and International+ plans, and available as an add-on on Starter. We prepare and submit the application on your behalf; issuance timing is determined by the IRS.
Yes, registered agent service for your first year is included in every plan. It can be renewed annually as an add-on.
Yes. Every plan and every state supports both LLC and corporation formation. You'll choose your entity type early in the formation flow.
Some states require an annual or biennial report with its own fee, and services like registered agent renewal or mail handling are billed annually if you keep them active. Every recurring fee is labeled clearly — nothing is hidden.
Yes. Checkout is designed to run on Stripe. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
